Obituaries for the week of September 1 – September 7, 2015
LEE – Janet Carter Lee, 78, of Kissimmee, Florida was called home by her beloved Lord on Sunday, August 30, 2015. She was born in New Castle, Indiana on November 17, 1936 and moved to Kissimmee, Florida in 1950.
 Daughter of Robert and Lois Carter, Janet graduate from Osceola High School in 1954 and married Thomas James “Pete” Lee on August 14, 1955. The Lee Family moved to Ft. Myers in 1963 and lived there until they returned to Kissimmee in 1976.
 Janet was very active in many civic organizations in Ft. Myers including The Fort Myers Rebels, The 200 Club, Ft. Myers Gourmet Dining Club, The Clarissa Garden Club, The Edison Pageant of Light and The Gamma Rho Chapter of ESA.
 When the family moved back to Kissimmee she continued being active in civic organizations including The Joshua Stevens Chapter of the Daughter of The American revolution, The Delta Chapter Alpha Chapter of ESA and numerous county organizations including The Advisory Board for RSVP, she was appointed to The Chapter Government Revision Committee and was appointed to serve on the Commerce on The Status of Women Board. She worked for several county agencies retiring from the Clerk’s Office in 2002.
 A lifelong member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, Janet was an active member for over 53 Years. She served in all officer positions for her chapters including President several times, as well as serving as The Florida State Council President 1975-1976, the SERC regional President 1985-1986 and served on the ESA Foundation Board for 4 years. She was a long time member of The Silver Spur Club.
 Janet is survived by children Scott Lee (Sheryl) of Lakeland, Fl., Jim Lee (Cora)of West Chester, OH and Missy Sheldon (Bruce) of Lakeland, FL. ; her brother Robert Myron Carter (Sheila); grandchildren, Jamie Lee, Thomas Lee, Christopher Lee (Natalia), Brian Reed, Kayla Lee, Katherine Lee, Parker Lee, Jake Northrup, Clay Sheldon and Emily Sheldon; sister in Laws, Nancy Clemons and Ellen Bell and brother in law, Bob Lee (Barbara); as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
 The family wishes to thank the staff and nurses from Cornerstone Hospice for all of the care and compassion that was given to Janet. We also wish to thank Comfort Keepers for all the wonderful care and support provided by the care givers.
 Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Rose Hill Cemetery with Minister Ross C. Pepper III, First Kissimmee Christian Church, Officiating. Public visitation will be Friday, September 11, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Roger C. Thompson Memorial Chapel, Conrad & Thompson Funeral Home, 511 Emmett Street, Kissimmee, Fl. 34741.

ROONEY – Jolan R. Rooney, 58, of Kissimmee passed away Friday, August, 28, 2015 at her residence with her loving family by her side. Born in Bitburg County, Germany,  the daughter of Ira Rubin and Anita Hempfling Rubin and moved to Kissimmee from Miami in 1967. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lock Haven Baptist Church of Orlando.
 Survived by husband James O. Rooney, Jr.; daughter, Kim (Beau) Kelley of Kissimmee; sons, James L. (Brittany) Rooney of Groveland and Emory (Marysabel) Rooney of Tampa; sisters, Carol Rubin and Laura (Gary) Bondurant; brothers, Walter, Harry and Peter Rubin;  father, Ira Rubin; six grandchildren, Kayla Rooney, Elle Mulkey, Drew Kelley, Emma Kelley, Jackson Rooney and Isla Rooney.
 Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, September 6, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at Lock Haven  Baptist Church, 14246 Boggy Creek Road, Orlando with The Pastor Lane Stockton, officiating.

In Loving Memory of Robert George Staggs

Robert George Staggs, 74, of St. Cloud, FL & Cocoa Beach, FL accepted the hand of Jesus to take him home on Sunday, August 30, 2015. Robert was a selfless, kind-hearted man who lived a long and fulfilled life. He found great joy in the simple things in life, such as going to the rodeo, playing poker, watching the University of Alabama football games, dancing, and more recently, visiting the Brevard County Zoo. He spent many years as a successful salesman before his retirement. The true passions of his life were the Lord, his family and his friends. Robert is survived by his sister, Teet Shaw (Huntsville, AL), his son, Robert Wesley Staggs (Michelle) of Madison, AL, his grandchildren Mckenzie Parker (Orlando, FL), Ryan Parker (St. Cloud, FL), and Isabella and Michael Staggs (Madison, AL), his friend Deanne Hansen (Cocoa Beach, FL) as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held at Heartcry Chapel in Kissimmee on Thursday, September 3rd at 4:00 p.m.  Robert and his family requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Heartcry Chapel (2244 E. Irlo Bronson Highway, Kissimmee, FL 34744) to assist their efforts in serving the community and leading others to the Lord.
