St. Cloud man found with child sexual abuse material sent to federal prison
After entering a guilty plea in August on federal chares of receipt and possession of child sexual abuse materials, a U.S. District judge Thursday sentenced James Cox, 80, of St. Cloud to eight years and one month in federal prison.

On Jan. 19, 2024, St. Cloud Police Department officers conducted a search of Cox’s home and discovered images of child sexual abuse material, which led to a search of the Countryside Drive by federal Homeland Security agents in March 5. Hundreds of images and multiple videos on one of the devices located at that residence was determined to be used by Cox, leading to his arrest.

According to court documents, the images and videos found showed sexual abuse of infant and young girls, including one that had been uploaded by Cox to a website in his effort to look for similar materials. Cox, known for portraying Santa in the past, later characterized his conduct in a recorded and monitored jail call as looking for “little girls.”

Agents said they believed Cox’s son Henry had been recording his molestation of a child in the house. Henry Cox committed suicide shortly after the March raid.

3rd arrest made in July Kissimmee apartment shooting
The arrest of a third man in connection with a deadly shooting on July 9 in Kissimmee sheds light on what occurred at the apartment complex that night.

Marcus Previlus, 18, has been arrested and charged with murder with engaged in a home invasion robbery, in the death of 20-year-old Adrian Gonzalez, a resident of the Rapallo apartment complex on Centerview Boulevard just south and east of The Loop and across Osceola Parkway from the Crosslands Shopping Center.

At a hearing following Previlus’ arrest, Judge John Beamer ordered the suspect held in the Osceola County Jail without bond.

According to an arrest affidavit that gives details of the incident, reportedly connected to an armed robbery over a drug sale, police say Previlus was with Isaiah Bey, 27, and Jeamond Cleus, 21, in a vehicle driven by Quinton Douglas, 27. Douglas called Gonzalez to deliver drugs outside, and Cleus and Bey led Gonzalez back into the apartment at gunpoint.

Police say in a gunfight that ensued Gonzalez and Cleus were fatally shot, and Bey was found hiding in bushes about 200 feet away holding a firearm listed as stolen from Gonzalez’s apartment, after also being shot and wounded.

Previlus joins Douglas in the Osceola County Jail on murder and home invasion charges. Bey is held on a violation of parole charge, as he is a convicted felon who was possessing a firearm.
