One 19-year-old man has died and another was taken to the hospital as a result of a single-car accident on Florida's Turnpike in Orlando, Florida Highway Patrol reports.
According to FHP's report, the two were riding in a Mazda MX-5 headed north approaching the Interstate 4 express lane onramp just after 3 p.m. Monday. The driver began to change lanes toward the ramp and lost control. The vehicle stuck the inside shoulder concrete wall barrier. The driver overcorrected to the right and struck another barrier that caused it to overturn onto its roof.
The driver was pronounced deceased on scene, while the passenger was transported to Health Central Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The accident closed the northbound Turnpike lanes from Consulate Drive to Interstate 4 until about 8 p.m.
