A Kissimmee man won a $1 million prize earlier this year among three prizes he claimed in the Florida Lottery's 500X THE CASH scratch-off game.
Lottery officials this week announced John Schaafsma, 68, won a $1,000 prize, a life-changing $1 million win in August, and another $1,000 prize in November. The winning tickets in August were purchased at the K & M Drugs located in the Solivita village community.
Schaafsma opted for a one-time lump-sum payment of $640,000 from his $1 million win. K & M Drugs received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning $50 Scratch-Off ticket.
Lottery officials say there are still two $25 million top prizes -- the largest ever offered on a Florida Lottery scratch-off game, to be won in the game, which is billed as "the best odds to become an instant millionaire."
Scratch-Off games comprising approximately 74 percent of Lottery ticket sales, officials said.
