LETTERS TO THE EDITOR — Traffic lawlessness a serious issue

Dear Editor:

I wanted to write about an issue, which I find to be extremely important, that being how much traffic laws are being ignored throughout Osceola County.

This is a very serious issue, as it has led to many serious injuries and even death. Too often I witness drivers run red lights, drive into oncoming traffic, and nearly hit other drivers’ cars, all to save time. Too many people exceed the speed limit, and will even become angry when you try to follow the law. Accidents are far too frequent here. A friend of mine, whose name I will withhold, has been in and out of the hospital for a few months now, all because a driver chose to accelerate as she pulled out, so as to try to pass her.

I think that something needs to be done about this. Whether that be required refresher courses or more police action, something needs to happen, or many more people are going to get hurt.
