St. Cloud motorcyclist killed in Melbourne crash, FHP reports

A St. Cloud motorcyclist was killed Monday afternoon in Brevard County when he collided with a stopped tractor trailer also driven by an Osceola County driver, Florida Highway Patrol reports.

Troopers say the incident happened just before 3 p.m. at U.S. Highway 192 and St. Johns Heritage Parkway in Melbourne. According to a crash report, the 48-year-old victim was headed westbound on 192 on his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and failed to observe a Freightliner semi tractor-trailer, driven by a 49-year-old Kissimmee man, that was stopped. The motorcycle struck the rear of the semi.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead on scene. The semi driver was not transported and remained on scene.

The crash remains under investigation, FHP said.
