Weather watching: Temperatures to soar back into the mid-80s next week, forecast shows

I bring you a good-looking forecast with only a slight chance of showers by the weekend, but there will be a big warming trend coming after the colder weather of earlier in the week.

High temperatures will be back into the low 80s from Friday through Sunday. This warmer air is coming back quickly after scattered frost reports in Central Florida Tuesday morning. Temperatures will soar into the mid-80s by the middle of next week, and there is no more cold air coming through Jan. 20.

A weak tornado with winds near 75 miles per hour touched down last Saturday in Lake County. Five mobile homes suffered damage and large tree branches were broken. An F1 tornado was also reported up in Deland.

Rainfall for December generally ranged from 4 to 5 inches across Osceola County. We have a full moon coming up on Friday night and it is called the Wolf Moon.
