A Florida Highway Patrol trooper was injured on Sept. 22, after his cruiser was hit by another vehicle on Florida’s Turnpike inside Osceola County.
Trooper William Chambers had just stopped his 2013 Dodge Charger with its emergency lights on in the grassy median of a construction zone at mile marker 211 at about 10:02 p.m.
For an unknown reason, Joycelyn Dossantos, 23, of Orlando, lost control of her 2014 Honda Civic on the turnpike and traveled into the grassy area of the construction zone, and struck the rear of the Chambers’ cruiser.
Chambers was taken to Celebration Hospital with minor injuries.
Dossantos and her passenger, Destiny Marrero, 24, of Winter Garden, were taken to St. Cloud Medical Center also with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending against Dossantos.

An Apopka woman, who was killed in a crash on Osceola Polk Line Road on Sept. 17, when she ran head-on into a pickup truck, has been identified.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol, the victim was 29-year-old Samantha Jensen.
Troopers said Jensen was driving a 2019 Tesla car westbound on Osceola Polk Like Road near Shady Oak Drive at about 4:45 p.m.
