Deputies arrested a man who allegedly stole numerous packages from homes in the St. Cloud area.

Elin Fernando Salas has been charged with the thefts.

According to an Osceola County Sheriff’s Office report, multiple package thefts occurred in the Lakeshore at Narcoossee subdivisions off Narcoossee Road in St. Cloud on July 2.

After Ring doorbell cameras captured quality video of the suspect and his vehicle, property crime detectives researched the vehicle and were able to identify the exact grey Nissan Altima used in the thefts. The car was located at an Orlando apartment complex.

After two days of surveillance, Salas, who was an exact match of the suspect in the videos, was observed entering the vehicle and driving away, the report stated. Sheriff’s Office detectives made contact with Salas and interviewed him regarding the thefts. He then confessed to taking the packages from the homes, Sheriff’s Office officials said. He was arrested and taken to Osceola County Corrections.

Anyone with information regarding the thefts or any other crimes are asked to contact the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office at 407-348-2222 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS, where information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
