Poinciana SunRail Station: Try the Train Tour will be Saturday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The location is 5025 South Rail Ave. The SunRail station is expected to open July 30.
New Dimensions High School, 4900 Pleasant Hill Road, will host a summer basketball camp from June 4-8, from 8 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. This camp is for boys ages 12 to 17. The fee is $120.
The camp fee includes a T-shirt, instruction and skill development, contests and competitions, scrimmages, breakfast and lunch.

The next Physician Lecture Series at the Poinciana Branch Library will be today from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. The topic will be Surgical Options for Diabetic Patients. Presented by Dr. Owen Kieran, credentialed General Surgeon at Poinciana Medical Center. The discussion will also include symptoms, treatment options and lifestyle modifications for this condition.
On Saturday, a beginners origami class will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Origami comes from the Japanese word “oru” which means fold and “Kami” which means paper. Try your hand at this craft and you may find a new hobby.

The Association of Poinciana Villages presents its second Adult Only Prom Saturday. The prom will be held at the Tony De Palma Community Building, 395 Marigold Ave., from 7 to 10 p.m. Those 21 and older are invited to attend. This years’ theme is “Dance Under the Hollywood Stars”.

John Cortes will be holding a town hall meeting Thursday May 24, between 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the New Dimension High School auditorium located across from Disney Wilderness Preserve, 4900 Old Pleasant Hill Road. Come out and hear from Cortes, who represents Poinciana on what the Florida Legislature did and did not do in the 2018 session in Tallahassee.
The Association of Poinciana Villages welcomes back OPMI for their Summer Camp Program- Art of Enrichment Camp. The camp is for youth ages 5-13 and will run May 29 to Aug. 10. Cost is $65 per week. The camp will be held at the Poinciana Community Center, 395 Marigold Ave.
