St. Cloud driver killed after hitting, sliding under semi-trailer

A St. Cloud man was killed in Orange

County on Monday, after a semi-trailer

turned into the path of the car he was

driving, authorities said.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol

report, Mark Lehr, 56, of Vero Beach, was

on southbound State Road 520 in the semi-

trailer at about 3:55 p.m., when he

attempted to make a left turn to travel on

eastbound S.R. 520.

As Lehr turned, he drove into the path of a

2000 Buick vehicle being driven by Steven

Chevalier, 59, who was heading westbound

on S.R. 520, the report stated. The front of

the Buick struck the left side of the semi-

trailer, with the impact forcing the car to

go under the truck, troopers said.

Chevalier was pronounced dead on scene.

Lehr was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation and

charges are pending.
