Soccer coach arrested after allegedly touching young player inappropriately

A soccer coach was arrested by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office last week after he allegedly touched a young player inappropriately.

On July 16, Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a report of lewd and lascivious molestation on a victim under 12 years of age. However, it was later discovered that the alleged offense occurred in Osceola County. The mother of the 9-year-old boy reported that a soccer coach, Hugo Daniel Jimenez- Rumbos, 22, had inappropriately touched her child on the way to a soccer practice and during an exercise, according to a Sheriff’s Office report.

On Aug. 15, detectives made contact with Jimenez-Rumbos who cooperated with the investigation. He confessed to five counts of lewd and lascivious molestation on a victim under 12 years of age and one count of lewd and lascivious conduct, Sheriff’s Office officials said. Jimenez-Rumbos was arrested and booked into the Osceola County Jail on no bond. Detectives believe there could be additional victims and are continuing to investigate this case.
