Sheriff's Office searching for man who tired to rob jewelry store

Local authorities are searching for a suspect who attempted to rob a jewelry store on Tuesday.

At approximately 10:50 a.m. Osceola County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Aldo Jewelry, 1507 Fortune Retail Circle, in response to a report of an attempted armed robbery.

The victim reported that a black male, wearing a black mask and gloves, violently forced his way into the business just as his wife was entering the store, a Sheriff’s Office report stated. The suspect threw his wife to the ground and pointed a handgun at him, demanding money and jewelry. However, the victim’s shop was not set up, and not yet open for business, so the victim had nothing to give the suspect.

Once the suspect realized there was no money or jewelry, he left the store and entered the passenger side of a gray, 2009-23, Kia Forte. The vehicle fled the parking lot and headed east on Fortune Road, toward St. Cloud.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 407-348-2222 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477, where information leading to a felony arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
