Sheriff's Office searching for man who stole money from woman at her car

Osceola deputies are searching for a male suspect who stole money from a woman after accosting her at her car on Sunday.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., a female victim was parked at the front of the Hope Thrift Store at 5943 W. U.S. Highway 192 in Kissimmee, when she was approached by an unknown male. The victim was leaning into her parked car, when she felt the suspect push up against her telling her to, “Be quite and get into the car,” according to an Osceola County Sheriff’s Office report.

When the woman began to yell, the suspect grabbed her in a bear hug, but she was able to break free and run for help.

While she was getting help, the suspect went into her car and stole her wallet, taking between $50 to $200 before discarding it.

The suspect fled on a red and black bicycle traveling east on U.S.192. He was described as a dark-skinned male, with dark brown eyes, dark short hair and was unshaven. He was wearing a grey hooded jacket with light grey sweatpants with a black stripe down the side of the legs.

The Osceola County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying this suspect.
