Poinciana Team is looking for beautiful homes

The Poinciana Beautiful Team is out and about the community, looking for homes that meet and exceed the qualities of a 2020 Poinciana Beautiful home.  

Qualifications are a well-landscaped yard, a cared for with much love home and fantastic curb appeal.

The Poinciana Beautiful Team is looking for homes to nominate. If you would like to enter your home or nominate a neighbor’s home, take a picture and send it to APV Poinciana Beautiful, 401 Walnut St., Kissimmee, Fla.,  Attn: Trish.  

Judges will select seven homes. Awards will be presented at the Poinciana Beautiful Gala to be held the final Saturday in January 2020.

 State Rep John Cortes, D-Kissimmee, will hold an HOA Reform Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, Sept. 26, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Fire Station No. 42, 2000 N. Poinciana Blvd. Joining Representative Cortes will be a spokesperson from the Department of Business and Professional Regulations.

 Poinciana Friends of the Library will hold its monthly mini book sale on Wednesday, Oct., 2, from 10 a.m. to noon at the library.

The Poinciana Friends of the Library support the community and the library. Since 1998, the “Friends” strive to improve and expand library services, facilities and programs. Consider joining the Poinciana Friends of the Library. Their next meeting is Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 11 a.m. to noon. Yearly dues are $5.

The Poinciana Branch Library’s Book Club Mysteries and Recipes will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 5 to 6 p.m.

This months’ selection is Never Tell by Lisa Gardner. Discuss the book and taste recipes with fellow sleuths.

The Poinciana Branch Library will hold a Crafter’s Fair on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Visit with local crafters and view an assortment of hand-made items available for purchase.

 Florida Native Plants is the program, which will be presented on Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 10 to 11 a.m.  Learn how to beautify your home (just in time for the Poinciana Beautiful Event!) and help Florida’s delicate ecosystem by planting native plants. This event will be presented by Eleanor Foerste, emeritus faculty from the University of Florida in partnership with the Florida Native Plant Society, Pine Lily Chapter.
