The carnival is coming.
The Poinciana Ladies Club 2019 Spring Carnival will run from March 21-24 on the grounds of the Poinciana Community Center, 445 Marigold Ave.
Proceeds from this event fund the Poinciana Ladies Club Scholarship Program. Every year, the Ladies Club awards scholarships to deserving Poinciana High School Seniors.
The Poinciana Ladies Club meets the first Tuesday of each month from 10 to 11 a.m. They also meet the second Monday of each month from 6 to 8 p.m. The Club is always open to new members. The Poinciana Ladies Club meets at the Poinciana Community Center, 445 Marigold Ave.
The Central Florida Expressway Authority will hold a public meeting for the proposed Poinciana Parkway Extension on Thursday, March 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This meeting will be held at Poinciana High School’s cafeteria, 2300 South Poinciana Blvd.
Thinking about home ownership? “Homebuying in a Shifting Market” is a program which will be presented at the Poinciana Branch Library on Monday, March 25, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Representatives from Keller Williams will be on-site to discuss emerging real estate market trends and how they may benefit first time home buyers.
A Census 2020 recruiting event will be at the library on Tuesday, March 26, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Representatives from the U.S. Census Bureau are recruiting qualified personnel to help with the 2020 Census operation in the area. Applications will be taken on-site for temporary paid Census takers.
The Poinciana Branch Library is located at 101 N. Doverplum Ave.
Youths from age 5 high school age can learn to play tennis or improve their game at no charge at Vance Harmon Park on Saturdays from 9 to11 a.m. weekly. Retired tennis pro Dennis Bruckel has taught tennis for 25 years at public and private courts in Poinciana and Kissimmee.
Younger kids will work on tennis stroke production and mechanics while older kids enjoy singles and doubles fun competition. A ball-throwing machine is used weekly to provide lots of hits for everyone.
Kids attending only need appropriate clothing and court shoes. Racquets and balls will be provided. All sessions are at the tennis and pickleball courts at Vance Harmon Park in Poinciana. No reservations are needed.
This is a great chance to learn a sport, which can be played throughout a lifetime.
