A woman is under arrest and held at the Osceola County Jail after Osceola Sheriff's deputies say she held her 14-year-old daughter's head under water in a bathtub at their Poinciana home Wednesday morning.
Sheriff Marcos Lopez said at a press conference Wednesday night that Giselle Glover was found unresponsive in the bathroom when deputies entered the home after being dispatched for a disturbance call, and that she died in the incident.
Kelsey Glover, 35, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery, after deputies say she chased those who witnessed the episode in the bathtub with a hammer, which forced them to call 911. Lopez said further charges could be filed after the Medical Examiner determines the exact cause of death.
Lopez said the mother, her two children and another person who lived in the house were present at the time.
"It is a dark day when things like this happen," Lopez said, noting Kelsey Glover had no prior arrest record, and the only call history at the Cambourne Drive address was a prior injunction the children's father filed against the mother.
Lopez also said the investigation is continuing, and that Kelsey Glover had been uncooperative on Wednesday, so he had no details on what led to the fatal incident. He did say the victim's father was notified of the incident.
