Poinciana Medical Center to celebrate sixth anniversary

Poinciana Medical Center, 325 Cypress Parkway, will celebrate its sixth year anniversary and ribbon cutting on Tuesday, July 23, 6 to 7:30 p.m.

This community celebration will recall the past history of the hospital. A ribbon cutting will mark the completion of the latest expansion project. CEO Chris Cosby will provide up-dates on the progression of services which will better serve the community of Poinciana.

 It’s that time of year again - summer is winding down and it’s time to get ready for the 2019-20 school year. Osceola Community Health Services Poinciana (OCHS), 109 Doverplum Ave., will host Back 2 School Open House on Wednesday, July 24, from 3 to 7 p.m. This open house includes a health fair, clinic tours and give-a-ways. School physicals with required vaccines are $30; sports physicals with EKG are $45 (these sale prices are good until Aug. 3).

OCHS will host this same event on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Kissimmee. Back 2 School Open House will be at Stadium Place, 1501 Bill Beck Blvd.

 Every year, the Poinciana Area Council (PAC) collects school supplies to donate to Poinciana area schools. School supply drop-off sites are Valencia College Poinciana, 3255 Pleasant Hill Road; Osceola Community Health Services, 109 Doverplum Ave.; CenterState Bank Poinciana, 850 Cypress Parkway; Kissimmee/Osceola Chamber of Commerce, 1425 E. Vine St. and Access Affordable Benefits, 8553 W. Irlo Bronson Highway.

Sonic’s, 1051 Cypress Parkway, is collecting school supplies to benefit Poinciana area schools.  Here’s something to entice you to contribute - for every school supply dropped off, Sonic’s will give you a free medium drink.

Drop off a backpack, your gift is a free cheeseburger combo.
