A Poinciana man was charged with 20 burglaries after authorities received numerous reports from victims that someone had broken into their vehicles.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office arrested 30 year-old Travis Andrews of 658 Royalty Court in Poinciana.
According to a Sheriff’s Office report, deputies with the Patrol Division recently responded to multiple complaints of vehicle burglaries in the Poinciana area. All the victims said that items were taken from their vehicles.
Using surveillance video, detectives were able to get a suspect description. Then, through investigative techniques, detectives with the Tourist Policing Unit (TPU), West Property Crimes Unit and South Property Crimes Unit were able to identify the suspect as Andrews.
An arrest warrant was obtained for Andrews and a subsequent search warrant for his home, where the stolen items were recovered, the report stated. Enough evidence was collected from this search warrant to charge Andrews with approximately 20 burglaries in the area. This investigation is continuing.
