Poinciana Fest 2019 set for Saturday, Nov. 2

Poinciana Fest 2019, presented by the Poinciana Area Council and hosted by Valencia College Poinciana Campus, will be on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Valencia College Poinciana Campus, 3255 Pleasant Hill Road.

This free community event features food trucks, raffles, vendors expo, kid’s activities, games, entertainment and more. Tours of the Valencia Poinciana Campus will also be given.

The Poinciana Area Council (PAC) operates under the umbrella of the Kissimmee-Osceola Chamber of Commerce. Established in 1998, PAC strives to empower the business community while giving back to the community of Poinciana through annual scholarships, school supply drives and events such as Poinciana Fest.

In addition to the event host, Valencia College Poinciana Campus, other sponsors are CenterState Bank, Poinciana Medical Center and Toho Water Authority.

 Friends of the Poinciana Library will hold a Book Sale on Saturday Nov. 2, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a great opportunity to purchase books while supporting the Friends of the Poinciana Library.

On Wednesday, Nov. 6, preschoolers can enjoy a special story time. Mother Goose Storytime: A Hero for Kids will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Enjoy stories, dance to silly songs and have fun. Batman visits for a super-hero themed story time. A Hero for Kids is a veteran founded volunteer nonprofit organization. The group focuses on helping to make the world around them a better, happier place for our children.

This months’ Book Club mysteries and Recipes will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 5 to 6 p.m. They will discuss the book Knife by Jo Nesbo and taste recipes from fellow sleuths.

The Poinciana Branch Library is located at 101 N. Doverplum Ave.

 CFL Professional Volleyball Training presents Precision Volleyball Sundays at the Mary Jane Arrington Gym & Aquatic Center, 625 Country Club Road, beginning Nov. 3 and running until April 26.

Instructor Max Auguste will conduct two sessions. Boys and girls ages 9 to 13 will train from 2 to 4 p.m., and boys and girls ages 14 to 17, from 4 to 6 p.m. The fee is $75 per month. For more information, go to www.cflprecisionvolleyball.cpm.
