Poinciana Christmas parade ready to roll

The 26th Annual Poinciana Christmas Parade and Celebration is ready to roll!

The parade steps off at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The parade route begins at Cypress Branch and Cypress Parkway, traveling east, turning right onto Doverplum, right onto Country Club Road and ending behind the Mary Jane Arrington Gym and Aquatic Center on Country Club Drive.

This event is off-site parking only. Shuttle busses, courtesy of Living Water Fellowship, will run every 20 minutes from Walgreens on Marigold Avenue (grassy lot) and the Anthony DePalma Building, 395 Marigold Ave.

Immediately following the parade, the Christmas Celebration starts at the Vance Harmon Amphitheater Park, 65 Country Club Drive. Enjoy live holiday music, performed by Jaz Nova of Downtown Disney fame. Some of the beautiful parade floats will be on display. Float and Battle of the Band winners will be announced. There will be bounce houses, dancing, food trucks and of course, Santa Claus, who will be available for pictures.

The Christmas celebration ends at 2 p.m. Enjoy the parade, celebration and time with your friends and neighbors!


Your furry friends need holiday cheer too! Celebrate Furry Tails Pet Grooming’s 10-year anniversary by bringing your pet in for a picture with Santa. On Sunday, Dec. 9, from 4 to 6 p.m. There is no charge for the digital photo and just a nominal fee for the print. You can also check out Poinciana’s first self-service pet wash while you are there.

Horizon Middle School, 2020 Ham Brown Road, will host a Winter Chorus Concert Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 6 p.m., in the school’s Cafeteria. Admission is $1, payable at the door. Horizon will host a Winter Band Concert the following evening, Dec. 12, in the school gymnasium. Cost is $1 at the door.


The “Battle on the Boulevard” continues, but this time with holiday cheer. Liberty High School, 4250 Pleasant Hill Road, will host a Prism Concert on Thursday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. in the school’s auditorium. Admission is $5, payable at the door. Poinciana High School, 2300 S. Poinciana Blvd., will host a Winter Choral Showcase on Dec. 13, at 7 p.m., in the school’s auditorium. Tickets are $5, payable at the door.

Bellalago Academy, 3651 Pleasant Hill Road, will host a Band and Choral Winter concert on Friday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m. in the school auditorium. Cost is $5 for admission.

These performances by our youth in our area schools will surely add to your holiday glow.


On Sunday, Dec. 16, at 6 p.m., Poinciana Christian Church will present a Christmas Jazz Concert., also a free event.
