Osceola Sheriff's Office charges man with sexual assault

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man for rape after he attacked the victim twice in a day.

Benjamin Giles has beencharged with four counts of sexual battery.

On Aug. 16 at 11 p.m., deputies responded to a missing person report. The caller said her friend left her residence with three unknown black males to work in the Celebration area, but hadn’t returned. A short while later, the victim returned to her residence and stated she had been sexually battered by one of the males.

According to a Sheriff’s Office report, the suspect, later identified as Giles, took the victim, and three other people to the Celebration area to do landscaping and window repair work. Once in the area of Blake Boulevard, Giles dropped off all the occupants of the vehicle, but requested the victim stay in the vehicle.

Giles then drove to an unknown area in Celebration and sexually battered the victim in his vehicle, the report stated. Afterward, Giles drove to the McClaren Circle area in Kissimmee, where he sexually battered her again.

On Aug. 23, Giles was located and apprehended in the Haines City area. He did not cooperate with the investigation and declined to speak to investigators. Giles is currently in the Polk County Jail awaiting extradition back to Osceola County.

Anyone with information related to the case is asked to contact the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office at 407-348-2222.
