Osceola deputy ticketed after causing crash on State Road 417

An Osceola County Sheriff’s Office deputy was ticketed on Tuesday after crashing into another vehicle on State Road 417.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Deputy Gloria Boccio, 29, of Kissimmee, was driving a 2014 Ford SUV northbound in the right lane on S.R. 417 at about 4:40 p.m. in Orange County.

As traffic had slowed or stopped for other vehicles ahead, Boccio, for an unknown reason, failed to do so, and to swerve to the left to avoid hitting a car in front of her, the report stated. In doing so, she drove into the center lane and hit 2019 Dodge pick-up truck, driven by Yudenai Maurino Leon, 36, of Orlando. After the collision, the front, right side of the SUV hit a 2013 Mini Cooper, driven by Sarah Stevens, 28, of Orlando, which was then pushed into a 2013 Volswagon, driven by Samuell Scott, 26, of Maitland, the report stated.

Nobody was injured in the crashes.

Boccio was ticketed by the FHP for an improper lane change.
