Osceola deputies arrest man wanted for armed robbery of hotel

Deputies have arrested a man wanted for robbing an Osceola County hotel at gunpoint.

Asante McGee,21, has been charged with robbery with a weapon, grand theft and aggravated assault with a weapon.

On April 16, Osceola County Sheriff’s Office detectives were investigating an armed Robbery at the Econo Lodge at 2934 Polynesian Isle Blvd.

During the course of the investigation, detectives were able to identify McGee as the suspect in the case and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

On Monday, the Sheriff’s Office conducted a operation where deputies were able to spot McGee at a bus stop in the area of U.S. Highway 192 and Old Vineland Road.  However, when McGee noticed deputies, he tried to run, but was captured and placed into custody.
