Orlando passenger killed in Osceola crash Sunday

Charges are pending against an Orlando man after witnesses said he was racing another vehicle on U.S. Highway 192, when he crashed, killing his passenger.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Wilfredo Lanzo-Torres, 32, of Orlando, was driving a 2016 BMW westbound on U.S. 192 at about 6 a.m. Witnesses told troopers that he appeared to be racing another BMW westbound, when he lost control of the car. Torres' car left the roadway and the right side hit a tree. Torres' passenger, John Viera Santana, 27, of Orlando, was pronounced dead on scene.

At this time, troopers have no other information about the other BMW. The crash remains under investigation, and charges are pending against Torres.
