Mother-in-law of woman found dead charged with evidence tampering, making false statements

Nicole Montalvo's mother-in-law has been arrested and charged with evidence tampering in the death of the victim, Sheriff Russ Gibson said Friday.

Wanda Rivera, 59, was charged additionally with making false statements to Osceola County Sheriff’s Office investigators.

Wanda Rivera who is the mother of Christopher Otero-Rivera, Nicole Montalvo’s estranged husband, and his father, Angel Luis Rivera, were arrested for Nicole’s murder on Sunday.

Investigators on Oct. 25 found human remains at a rural St. Cloud property Sunday. 

Otero-Rivera, had been living with his parents at the property on Hixon Avenue in rural St. Cloud. 

Montalvo, 33, had dropped the couple’s son Elijah at the home on Oct. 21, and was reported missing two days later after not picking him up from school.
