Man, hit, killed by SunRail train

A man was hit and killed by a SunRail train on Wednesday while he was walking on the tracks, authorities said.

Azzording to the Florida Highway Patrol, the train was traveling southbound at Pleasant Hill Road and Old Tampa Highway at 6:25 p.m., where  the Poinciana station is located.

The male victim, who was not identified in the FHP report, was hit while he was walking on the tracks. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical examiner.

There were 26 passengers and two crew aboard the southbound train. No injuries were reported. Arrangements were made to transport passengers from the train by bus.The crash remains under investigation.
