Kissimmee woman killed in Pleasant Hill Road crash

A 70-year-old Kissimmee woman was killed in a Pleasant Hill Road crash on Sunday, when she drove into the path of an oncoming vehicle, authorities said.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Sharon Rice, 70, of Kissimmee, was leaving a private driveway at 2100 Pleasant Hill Road at about 9:55 a.m. in a 2016 Nissan Versa. As she made the right turn in the right lane, she drove into the path of a 2018 Nissan Ultima, driven by Rose Rosario, 36, of Kissimmee, the report stated. The front of the Ultima, slammed into the right side of the Versa.

Rice was taken to the Osceola Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Rosario was taken to the same hospital with serious injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
