Kissimmee police identify body found outside hotel on Sunday

Kissimmee police have identified a dead body found outside a Kissimmee hotel on Sunday as 33-year-old Dana Stewart.

The Kissimmee Police Department received a call around 9:01 a.m. from the Howard Johnson Hotel, 4311 W. Vine Street, Kissimmee, after a staff member located a person’s body outside the hotel.

Patrol officers arrived on scene and confirmed the woman, identified as Stewart, of Osceola County, was dead.

“It’s unclear what Stewart was doing at or around the hotel prior to her death,” Kissimmee Police Department spokeswoman Baliey Myers said in a press release. “Our investigators have been and are actively working to speak with those believed to have been in contact with Stewart before her death.”

Detectives are treating Stewart’s death as suspicious based on the condition of her body when it was discovered.

Stewart’s cause of death was not immediately apparent to investigators. The Orange-Osceola Medical Examiners Office is currently working with police investigators to complete the investigation.

No other information was available currently as this is an ongoing investigation.
