One of the most popular grocery stores in Central Florida is about to get a new Osceola County location.

ALDI, which already operates stores in Kissimmee and St. Cloud, will be opening a new store in Poinciana, Thursday, June 2.

The store, which is known as a discount shopping experience (it’s the place where you actually rent your shopping cart for 25 cents, but the quarter is returned to you at the shopping corral), will open with a grand opening event at 8:30 a.m. Following the ribbon cutting, there will be an eco-friendly bag distribution (ALDI does not distribute shopping bags), an on-site produce for a year sweepsteakes and product sampling.

The new ALDI is located at 900 Cypress Parkway.

“We’re excited to bring our Simply Smarter Shopping experience to Poinciana and help customers stretch their dollars with our exclusive brand products, including fresh meats, fruits, vegetables and bakery items,” said David Rinaldo, Haines City division vice president for ALDI.

“We are committed to bringing ALDI customers the highest quality products at the lowest possible prices in simple and easy-to-navigate shopping environment.”

The newest Poinciana store will reflect a new look, thanks to input from customers. The store is simple to navigate, officials said, with easy to spot product signage. The store also will feature expanded cooler sections, healthy tips in the produce section and Dietician Picks, selected by nutrition experts.

ALDI has a long standing challenge to customers to switch from national brands to its exclusive brands and save up to 50 percent on their grocery bill, with a 100 percent satisfied replace the product and refund the customer’s money.
