Homeschool Resource Fair set for today at library

Some parents choose the homeschool option for their child. Be informed of the resources available.

Today from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., the Poinciana Branch Library will host a Homeschool Resource Fair. This is an opportunity to find information on homeschooling and meet with educational organizations to make an informed choice when homeschooling your student.  Vendors include Osceola County School District, Osceola County Virtual School, Florida Virtual School, Osceola Arts, Osceola Community Health Services, Florida Parent Educators Association, SKELETONS: Museum of Osteology, Education Revolution, Boggy Creek Airboat Rides, Buehler Planetarium, Orlando Science Center and more.

The Poinciana Branch Library is located at 101 N. Doverplum Ave.

 Health & Wellness Fair & Blood Drive will be Saturday, from 9 a.m. to noon at the APV Fitness Center, 397 Marigold Ave.

Meet vendors and take a tour of the facility and its updated fitness equipment.  Sign up for membership at this open house and receive a discount. Give the gift of life - OneBlood Big Red Bus will be stationed right outside the Health & Wellness Fair.

 Bingo! Back-to-School Bingo for school-aged children will be Saturday, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., at the Poinciana Community Center, 397 Marigold Ave. Prizes will be school supplies. Children must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian during this event.

 The next Association of Poinciana Villages Board of Directors meeting will be Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 9 a.m. at the Poinciana Community Center, 445 Marigold Ave. Deeded homeowners are invited to attend (must present valid identification).

 School is currently in session for Polk County students. Osceola kids begin school Monday, Aug. 12. Be safe on the roads and be mindful of our children.
