A Haines City man was killed in an Osceola County crash on Wednesday, after he failed to stop for traffic and slammed into another vehicle, authorities said.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, John Gale, 41, was driving a 2018 box truck westbound on State Road 417 exit ramp to Interstate 4 at about 6:15 a.m. Traffic was congested due to another crash in the area.
For an unknown reason, Gale failed to slow down as he approached the rear of a second box truck being driven by Mark Fogelman, 54, of St. Petersberg. Gale’s truck then slammed into the back of Fogelman’s vehicle.
Gale, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.
Fogelman was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
