The City of Kissimmee is offering residential and commercial property owners in some areas grant funds to improve those properties.
Wednesday, the city announced the Residential Property Improvement Program (RPIP), a new grant opportunity designed to support residents of single-family or duplex homes within the DKCRA boundaries, through the Downtown Kissimmee Community Redevelopment Agency (DKCRA).
The RPIP provides 50% matching, reimbursable grant funds up to $5,000 for eligible properties and improvements. The improvements covered by program include:
Exterior Painting: Costs associated with painting and preparation, including pressure cleaning and fascia repair.
Landscaping Improvements: Installation of new irrigation systems and related enhancements.
Porch/Deck Repair or Addition: Repairs or new additions of porches or decks at the front of the house.
Exterior Lighting: Installation of new lighting fixtures; repairs are not covered.
Driveway Repaving or Resealing: For resurfacing driveways.
New Doors, Awnings, and Windows: Installation of new doors, awnings, and windows.
Removal of Front Yard Chain Link Fence: Includes taking down chain link fences from front yards.
Commercial property owners within both the Downtown Kissimmee CRA and Vine Street CRA can apply for the Commercial Property Improvement Program (CPIP). The CPIP offers a 50% matching, reimbursable grant up to $30,000 for façade and other improvements. With high demand expected for that program, the city has allocated added funds for it in the 2025 fiscal year.

The city says the programs’ objectives are to promote the preservation and beautification of historic neighborhoods within Downtown Kissimmee.
