An armed robbery suspect was arrested on Tuesday after he victimized a store at The LOOP.
On July 8 at about 3:10 p.m., the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Justice store located at The LOOP, 3258 N. John Young Parkway, Kissimmee.
The victim told deputies that a Hispanic male, later identified as Hector Luis Massas, 48, entered the store wearing a tan fishing hat, green long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans. He approached the counter armed
with firearm and demanded cash, according to a Sheriff’s Office report. Massas then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
The investigation revealed that Massas was connected to several other armed robberies in the Central Florida area targeting females in or around shopping centers.
On Tuesday, a joint investigation between detectives from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, the St. Cloud Police Department, the Ocoee Police Department and Orlando Police Department resulted in the arrest of Massas, while he was in Daytona Beach.

Intercession City woman killed in crash
An Intercession woman was killed in a crash on Sunday after she was involved in a head-on crash.
The 77-year-old woman was driving a 2010 Honda car eastbound on Osceola-Polk Road at about 7:25 p.m., according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
For an unknown reason, she then traveled off the road and onto the shoulder. She then overcorrected and drove into the westbound lane hitting a 2013 Chrysler van, being driven by Daniel Boggs, 58, of Davenport, head on.
The woman, who was not named pending next of kin notification, was pronounced dead at Celebration Health.
Boggs was taken to the same hospital in serious condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
