Farm Share to provide fresh food to families in need Friday, Nov. 15

Farm Share will hold a food distribution on Friday, Nov. 15, in the parking area of the Poinciana Community Center, 445 Marigold Ave. Food distribution will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until all food is gone.

This Farm Share distribution is sponsored by St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Farm Share was established in 1991 based on the simple idea to distribute fresh food free of charge to families, children, seniors and individuals in need throughout Florida. This simple, but innovative idea has now grown into an organization that feeds tens of millions of people and distributes more than 55 million pounds of healthy and nutritious food annually.

 Be pro-active in your fight against holiday bulge. A free Power and Circuit Training class is now being offered at the APV Recreation Gym, 397 Marigold Ave. This class is held every Thursday, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. For more information, call 863-427-3417.

 Winter Series Movies Under the Stars kicks off Saturday, Nov. 16, at dusk, with The Lion King 2019. Movies Under the Stars takes place at the Vance Harmon Park Amphitheater, 625 Country Club Drive. Bring blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy this family movie night. Concessions are available at the Mary Jane Café.

 The Poinciana Fall Festival, brought to you by HACER (Hispanic-American Cultural, Educational & Recreational) is coming to town. The Fall Festival will be at Vance Harmon Park, Nov. 22 to Dec. 1.  The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) will present the 27th Annual Christmas Parade and Holiday Celebration on Saturday, Dec. 14. The parade starts at 11 a.m. on Cypress Parkway, followed immediately by the Holiday Celebration until 2 p.m.
