The following summary compares Osceola County student performance between 2017 and 2018 on the Grade 3 Florida Standards Assessment English Language Arts test (FSA ELA):

•Thirteen elementary schools showed growth or stayed the same.

•Eight schools showed improvement of four or more percentage points: Chestnut Elementary School for Science and Engineering, Kissimmee Elementary, Narcoosee Elementary, Partin Settlement Elementary, Poinciana Academy of Fine Arts, St. Cloud Elementary, Ventura Elementary, and Westside K-8

•Four schools had 70 percent or more of their Grade 3 students at Level 3 or higher: Narcoosee Elementary, St. Cloud Elementary, Harmony K-8, and Celebration K-8

Ten schools met or exceeded the state average (57 percent): Chestnut Elementary School for Science and Engineering, East Lake Elementary, Hickory Tree Elementary, Lakeview Elementary, Michigan Avenue Elementary, Narcoossee Elementary, St. Cloud Elementary, Bellalago Academy, Celebration K-8, and Harmony K-8.

“The majority of our elementary schools continue to show student growth,” said Superintendent Debra Pace.  “While there remains room for improvement, I am extremely confident in the direction of the Osceola School District and the commitment of every administrator and teacher to moving us from good to great.”
