A man wanted for an armed robbery of a local convenience store was arrested by authorities in Lake County on Aug. 10.
Detectives with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office were investigating an armed robbery,
which occurred on Aug. 4 at the 7-Eleven at 8540 W. U.S. Highway 192, Kissimmee. The suspect entered the business armed with a silver and black handgun, approached the cash register and demanded an undisclosed amount of cash.
An armed robbery in Lake County was found to be related to the crime and Osceola County Sheriff’s Office detectives and Lake County Sheriff’s Office detectives worked together.
On Aug. 10, during a traffic stop in Lake County, deputies identified, Leandro Javier Obenauer, 18, as the suspect for the robberies. Obenauer cooperated with detectives and confessed to his involvements to the crime in both Lake and Osceola County. Obernauer was arrested and charged with armed robbery with a firearm; he is currently incarcerated at the Lake County Department of Corrections.
