A couple was arrested for armed robbery and kidnapping after forcing a victim to withdraw money from an ATM at gunpoint.
Angelique Lopez and Kareem Acevedo were charged with the crimes.
According to an Osceola County Sheriff’s Office report, on July 23, deputies received a report of an armed robbery, which occurred in the area of West U.S. Highway 192 and Siesta Lago Drive in Kissimmee. The victim said they met with Lopez to made arrangements for purchasing narcotics. Lopez, along with Acevedo, met with the victim. Acevedo then produced a handgun and the suspects forced the victim to drive to an ATM machine to withdraw cash, the report stated. During the incident, Acevedo fired the gun inside of the victim’s vehicle.
Detectives were able to arrest the suspects. When Acevedo was taken into custody, he was in possession of a firearm and stolen property belonging to the victim. Both suspects cooperated with detectives in the investigation.
Lopez was charged with armed robbery with a firearm, kidnapping and grand theft.
Acevedo was charged with carrying a concealed firearm, armed robbery with a firearm, kidnapping, grand theft, and discharging a firearm. He also had an active warrant out of Polk County for armed burglary.
