Join Osceola County District 3 Commissioner Brandon Arrington for a Community and Transportation Update on Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Valencia College Poinciana Campus. Hear about how Osceola County and its partners are working together to improve the transportation network that will help residents in district 3 and Osceola County. Representatives will be present from LYNX, Central Florida Expressway Authority, SunRail, the Florida Department of Transportation, the Osceola County Sheriffs Office, Osceola County Tax Collector, Supervisor of Election and Property Appraiser.

On Thursday, Nov. 29, the first meeting of the newly formed Cub Scout Pack 844 Poinciana will be held. Boys and girls elementary-school age are welcome to join. The Drive-Thru Christmas Story, presented by Poinciana Christian Church, will be held Saturday, Dec. 1 and Sunday, Dec. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. each night. This wonderful reason for the season local favorite allows you to view scenes, featuring live music, scripture, live actors and animals-all this from the comfort of your vehicle. This event is free.

Help your child develop an early love for reading by attending the Poinciana Branch Library’s Learn 2 Read program on Monday, Dec. 3, from 10 to 11 a.m. Presented by the Parent Involvement Team of the Osceola County School District, this interactive experience provides how-to techniques parents of infants and toddlers.
The Poinciana Friends of the Library will host its monthly mini book sale on Wednesday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to noon. Stop by and help support this group that aids your local library while adding to your own collection of books.
Adults and teens are invited to come to the library and play Bingo for Books. Bingo for Books will be played on Monday, Dec. 10, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Celebrate the season with Jolly Holiday through the Decades on Saturday, Dec. 15, from 10 to 11 a.m. Travel back in time to a Victorian Christmas. Make paper dolls or a thaumatrope. Play games that children from that time period played for entertainment. Enjoy cookies and cocoa while listening Mrs. Claus read a Christmas tale.
