The city of Kissimmee Public Works and Engineering Department will begin road construction on Clyde Avenue and Lakeview Drive on Monday as part of a new section of the Shingle Creek Regional Trail called Toho Bend.

The project will take approximately 12 months, and it will consist of 0.435 miles of a 10-foot concrete multi-use trail with 4 to 5 feet of adjacent brick pavers.

The construction will also include the milling and resurfacing of 0.431 miles of roadway on Clyde Avenue and Lakeview Drive along with the development of a new curb and gutter along Clyde Avenue. Minor construction activities will take place during this time for clearing and grubbing, earthwork, grading, fencing and sodding.

This project, which is administered by the city of Kissimmee, is located east of John Young Parkway, and west of northern Lake Tohopekaliga.

This segment of the Shingle Creek Trail will connect to a previous phase of the trail to the south

of the project at the intersection of Clyde Avenue and Palmetto Avenue, and Canterbury Lane.
