The Florida Highway Patrol arrested a Celebration man on Tuesday after hitting and killing a Kissimmee motorcyclist and then fleeing the scene.

Troopers arrested 70-year-old Sadaqat Jaweed.

According to a FHP report, Jaweed was driving a 2017 Mercedes SUV eastbound on U.S. Highway 192 at about 2 p.m., when he attempted to make a left turn onto Diplomat Circle. As he turned, troopers said he drove into the path of 2018 Honda motorcycle being driven by Luis Del Valle Rosado, 32, who was heading westbound on U.S. 192.

The motorcycle struck the right side of the SUV, ejecting Rosado off the bike. Jaweed briefly stopped, but the fled the crash scene, troopers said.

Rosado was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Osceola County Sheriff’s Office located Jaweed in a neighborhood. Troopers then arrested and charged him with leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
