APV looking for Annual Poinciana Beautiful Awards nominees

The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) is looking for additional nominees for the Annual Poinciana Beautiful Awards.

Do you have one of the best-looking homes in the neighborhood? Are you always getting compliments on your landscaping? Nominate yourself for "Home of the Year!" APV will pick finalists from each Village and then pick one winner from each village at their Annual Awards Gala in January. Early Registration starts online Jan. 1 for the 2019 Spring Little League of Poinciana season. Little League is for children ages 4 to 13. The $85 registration fee includes a jersey, hat and belt. The Poinciana Friends of the Library will hold a Mini Book Sale on Wednesday, Jan. 2, from 10 a.m. to noon. The Poinciana Friends of the Library use the proceeds from the sale to help support some of the library’s programs.

Everyday English classes is an ongoing program held on Wednesdays. The next class will be taught at the Poinciana Branch Library on Wednesday, Jan. 2, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This is an open English language conversation class taught by Florida State certified teachers, experienced in teaching adult English language. There are also chances to earn prizes, with a graduation ceremony and certificates awarded based on hours attended.

Registered ALCO/TECO students receive extra hours for each library class they attend. Contact ALCO at 407-518-8140 for details. The American Dream Literacy Institute, a grant offered by the American Library Association, is made possible by Dollar General Literacy Foundation. The Poinciana Branch Library is located at 101 N. The Association of Poinciana Villages will host Family Night Bingo on Thursday, Jan. 3, at the Poinciana Community Center. Children ages 5 and up are invited to play and enjoy. The Poinciana Community Center is located at 445 Marigold Avenue. There is no pre-registration required.
