Apopka woman killed in Osceola Polk Line Road crash on Tuesday

An Apopka woman was killed in a crash on Osceola Polk Line Road on Tuesday, when she ran head-on into a pickup truck.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, the 29-year-old female victim was driving a 2019 Tesla car westbound on Osceola Polk Like Road near Shady Oak Drive at about 4:45 p.m.

Troopers said she then attempted to pass other traffic in the oncoming lane, but ran into the front of a 2018 Ford pickup truck being driven by Bruce Straubel, 56, of Riverview. The truck traveled over the top of the Tesla, the report stated.

A third vehicle, a 2013 Ford Escape driven by Hannah Davenport, 23, of North Carolina, was unable to stop, and ran into the front of the Tesla, troopers said.

The female victim, who was not identified in the report because her family had not yet been notified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Straubel was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

Davenport was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
