Memorial Day is a holiday to remember and pay respect to the men and women of this country who lost their lives while in military service.
A Memorial Day ceremony honoring our nation’s fallen heroes will be Friday, May 24, at 7 p.m. at Vance Harmon Amphitheater, 625 Country Club Drive.
Colors will be presented by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Color Guard followed by guest speakers. The Veterans Organization will present a 21 Gun Salute and taps.
Following this tribute, at dusk, a there will be a movie under the stars. “How to Train Your Dragon - The Hidden World” will be shown. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets.
On Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., join Osceola County Sheriff Russ Gibson for Poinciana Outreach Festival at the Mary Jane Arrington Aquatic Center, 625 Country Club Drive. In addition to fellowship and education, the Osceola Sheriffs Office will provide fun games and door prizes.
Summer break is almost here. OPMI’s Art of Enrichment Camp will be at the Poinciana Community Center, 445 Marigold Ave., from June 3 to Aug. 9.
Art of Enrichment Camp is for youth ages 5 to 12. Cost of the camp is $70 per week. Campers will enjoy cooking, arts and crafts, sports, acting classes, team building, swimming, music lessons, dance classes and more.
Osceola Community Health Services, 109 N. Doverplum Ave., is offering an early bird special until June 30. Sports physicals, with required EKG, are $45 ($10 savings) and physicals with vaccines, $30 ($5 savings).
