Editor’s Note: Walt Disney World provided the Osceola News-Gazette with free theme park admission to experience this event.
Walt Disney World’s Epcot is celebrating the diamond anniversary year of the Candlelight Processional, in part of the 2018 International Festival of the Holidays.
The Candlelight Processional happens nightly, through Dec. 30, at 5 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. All performances are on an open, outdoor stage in the America Pavilion (America Gardens Theatre) of the theme park.
A delightful show for guests of all ages, the Candlelight Processional tells the story of Christmas through traditional Christmas music performed by a massed choir and 50-piece live orchestra, and a guest celebrity narrator.
The setlist of music includes favorites like Shout for Joy; O Come, All Ye Faithful; Away In A Manger; O Holy Night; Angels From The Realms Of Glory; Il Est Ne, le Divin Enfant; Rejoice With Exceeding Great Joy; What Child Is This; Joy To The World; and more.
One of the most special parts of the performance happens when the audience is invited to join the choir in singing Silent Night.
While celebrities like Chita Rivera, Helen Hunt, Alfonso Ribeiro, Robby Benson and John Stamos have already narrated this year’s processional, there are still many big names to come.
