Posted on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 10:31 am

The Museum of Military History is inviting the public to participate in Commander’s Call: National Medal of Honor Day, Saturday, March 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Guest speaker Maureen Miller will share stories, photos and artifacts about her son, Medal of Honor recipient Robert J. Miller, from 11:30 a.m. to noon. For his heroic actions while serving with the Special Forces Operational Detachment in Afghanistan 2008, Miller saved the lives of seven Special Forces team members and 15 Afghanistan National Army Soldiers but unfortunately paid the ultimate sacrifice.
Additional special exhibits will highlight the achievements of other Medal of Honor recipients who went above and beyond the call of duty for actions of valor and heroism such as William Carney, Larry Smedley, Hershel “Woody” Williams, Baldomero Lopez and others.
Food, drinks, and dog tags will be available for purchase. Museum admission fees will be reduced from regular rates during event hours.
Donations, individual and corporate memberships, and sponsorships are available to help support the museum, a 501(c) 3 organization. For more information, contact the museum at 407-507-3894.
