Universal announces newest theme park

In case you missed it, Universal Orlando Resort made a pretty “epic” announcement last week — a brand new theme park coming to Central Florida.

What do we know?

The name: Universal’s Epic Universe.

As Universal’s blog reported, “epic” is a word that gets tossed around quite a bit in today’s world. But when we think of something that’s truly epic, we want the experience to live up to its expectations — right?

Universal Orlando Resort expects its fourth park to do just that, with an entirely new level of theme park experiences.

The features.

Universal Orlando Resort didn’t give away too much information when it made its big announcement at the Orange County Convention Center on Aug. 1. But we do know a few things:

It’s not just a theme park. There’s a whole lot of other fun coming to this area too.

There will be a hotel. The concept art features a large resort hotel for guests to stay within walking distance from the theme park.

Universal’s Epic Universe will also feature shops, restaurants and an entertainment center.

Universal Orlando took to Twitter replies to inform guests that more details on the park, hotel, shops, restaurants and other entertainment will be coming in the future.

The location.

Of course the park is coming to Orlando, but you may be wondering where exactly Universal acquired enough land to make a whole new theme park.

The theme park’s land is set on the opposite side of Interstate 4 from Universal Orlando Resort’s other parks. Guests can travel from park to park on Universal Boulevard or Kirkman Road.

Though Universal Orlando Resort did not announce any dates, the company is expected to share updates as the park develops.
