Poinciana APV Board elections Feb. 8

Poinciana residents, save the date! The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) election for Board of Directors for each Village will be on Feb. 8 at the Poinciana Community Ce nter (445 Marigold Ave.)

Only deeded homeowners and property owners can vote. Voters must bring their photo ID or proof of residence.

After the elections, when a new Board member is voted in, it does not automatically mean that they will sit on the Master Board. On Feb. 9 at 8 a.m., each individual Village Board will meet and the newly elected Board members will then elect a President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. Whomever is voted in as President will represent their village on the APV Master Board. For more information go to APVcommunity.com.

The APV has increased options and locations to pay your assessments. These sites are: The Anthony DePalma Center (395 Marigold Ave.), Poinciana Community Center, The Mary Jane Arrington Center, (625 Country Club Dr.) and the APV Administration Building (401 Walnut St.).

Yes, the winter chill finally arrived in our neck of the woods this week — but don’t say that too loudly around our northern friends! But did you know Poinciana pools are open year-round? The Victory Pool (445 Marigold Ave.) is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., as is the Mary Jane Arrington Aquatic Center (625 Country Club Dr.), which is a heated pool. Both pool locations offer concessions.

Don’t forget about the Poinciana Beautiful Awards Gala on Saturday! Festivities start at 7 p.m. at the Poinciana Community Center, featuring a live music featuring a jazz band and harpist, guest speakers, door prizes all evening, past hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar and more. The event honors homeowners who have taken extraordinary steps to landscape and maintain their homes.

This event is free to attend, but registration is required. There may still be a few seats left. If you wish to attend, go to https://conta.cc/3rjJuxG.
