Kissimmee to offer youth programs

The city of Kissimmee’s Parks & Recreation Department announces new youth programs for the period of October 2019 through March 2020.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to review each class as they have different dates and requirements.


 •Tiny tot tennis: The fundamentals of tennis for your tiny tot.

Location: Oak Street Park Tennis Court No. 9

Ages: 4 - 7 years old

Dates: October - March

Day: Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Fee: $50 (1 day)/ $90 (2 days) / $130 (3 days)

Time: 4:30 to 5:15 p.m.

 •Kiddie Korner: Learn through play with games, crafts, music, singing, field trips more. A birth certificate is required at the time of registration.

Location: Oak Street Park Community Center.

Age: 3 - 5 years old (must be potty trained).

Day: Monday through Friday

Fee: $25 registration fee, $100/session

Time: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 •Quickstart tennis: Modified play for kids just starting out.

Ages: 6 - 9 years old; 10 – 13 years old

Monday, Wednesday, Friday – $150

Time: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.; 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

 •Taekwondo – martial arts: Learn discipline while strengthening your mind and body.

The uniform will cost $50 and must be purchased through the instructor before your first promotional testing.

Day: Tuesday and Thursday

Fee: $60/month ($5 late fee for late payments made after the 5th of the month).

Time: 6 to 7 p.m.; 7 to 8 p.m.

 •Youth piano: A guided exploration of the world of piano. Each student will need to bring their headphones or earbuds to each class. The purchase of a method book is also required.

Date: Now through December 10; January 14 – March 3; March 24 – May 12

Fee: $80/session

Time: 7 to 8 p.m.
