Do you think of yourself as a Jack or Jill of all trades?

Do you like to talk on the phone?  Are you there to help a friend in need?  Are you always prepared and have safety in mind?  Do you enjoy social media, helping people resolve problems, and have exceptional organizational skills?  Then we can put you in touch with some great residents of Celebration that need your help.  Thriving in Place is searching for volunteers to assist people 55 years of age and older and people with disabilities of any age living in Celebration.

Everyone is welcome.  This is the starting place for you to get involved with a community changing program right here in Celebration.

The meetings are at the Osceola County Library West (305 Campus St., Celebration) from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Attend one of our the volunteer orientation and training meetings May 12, June 11, July 14 and Aug. 13.

The Conversation Project

Everyone has a story. About losing someone close. About what it was like to have the conversation. About not talking about wishes until it was too late.

The Conversation Project is dedicated to helping people talk about their wishes for end-of-life care.

It’s time to transform our culture so we shift from not talking about dying to talking about it. It’s time to share the way we want to live at the end of our lives. And it’s time to communicate about the kind of care we want and don’t want for ourselves.

We believe that the place for this to begin is at the kitchen table—not in the intensive care unit—with the people we love, before it’s too late.

Together we can make these difficult conversations easier. We can make sure that our own wishes and those of our loved ones are expressed and respected.

The Celebration Foundation is partnering with the West Osceola Branch Library located in Celebration to sponsor Donna Gray, project coordinator of the Conversation Project in Central Florida to start the Conversation in Celebration.
